Why I'm doing this

One hour a day, for the reasons under the number.

The number is the scaffolding. These are the load-bearing reasons.

Impact on community

Every hour fills a gap — food, education, mentorship, environment. Service strengthens the fabric in ways government and business can't always reach.

Personal growth

Serving others stretches you. New skills, resilience, perspective. It sharpens empathy and problem-solving — and occasionally teaches you how to untangle Christmas lights.

Connection & belonging

Volunteering brings you close to people outside your daily circles. Shared work makes shared meaning, and friendships you wouldn't have found otherwise.

Ripple effect

When one person gives, others notice. Service sparks service. Sharing time and stories multiplies the impact.

Legacy & purpose

Work defines what we do. Giving back defines how we're remembered. This is a way to live with purpose and leave a mark that outlasts the hours.
